The Office of Career Services provides career development services and individualized support for interested classes. The Career Services Coordinator can assist your class or department with the following:
- Presentations on résumé development, interviewing, job search strategies, networking, professional dress and etiquette, etc.
- Assisting students with drafting letters of interest
- Finding and applying for internship opportunities
- Coordinating mock interviews for your class or for individual students
- Conducting job search tutorials
- Workshops on ascertaining letters of recommendation and proper etiquette
- Answering employment related questions
- Set up career seminars with potential employers
PARTNERING WITH STAFF, FACULTY, AND DEPARTMENTS
NTU faculty, staff, and departments are integral partners in helping our students succeed in and out of the classroom. Faculty are experts in their fields and have the most contact with students. Staff are the face of the University and interact with the public often. The Office of Career Services needs the collaboration of the entire campus to ensure the successful transition of students from college life to the workplace. We are aware that faculty and staff have employment and career questions. The Career Services Coordinator is here to help! Listed below are several areas in which we provide assistance. Potential Employer Contacts
Information about potential employers is collected in a database and solicited when needed by a student or staff/faculty member. If you are contacted by an employer who is interested in posting for a position, hiring, or distributing information, please forward information to the Career Services Coordinator at careerservices@navajotech.edu. Once received, Career Services will get the employer in contact with qualified students or invite the employer to campus for an info session or on-campus interview. Please do not hesitate to share employment information. Our students need access to opportunities.
Advertising On-Campus Positions
If you need assistance advertising on-campus full-time, part-time, or work study positions, please forward the information to the Office of Career Services at careerservices@navajotech.edu. The information will then be forwarded to students in our database and by NTU student email.
Class Presentations / Workshops
Faculty and staff may arrange to have the Career Services Coordinator give a presentation about career resources at NTU. These presentations will include information about the program, work sessions on résumé development and writing letters of interest, goal setting, and additional segments upon request. Employer Visits/Info Sessions
Academic departments and various on-campus programs, including student clubs, may contact the Career Services Coordinator to help them set up a panel of employers to talk about specific opportunities in their career fields. The Office of Career Services can also assist with bringing employers to campus for presentations about their organization.
