Internships are a valuable way to gain professional experience or learn more about a profession you are interested in. The many benefits of an internship include developing strong teamwork skills, learning to work independently, applying what you learn in the classroom to real world situations, and making yourself competitive in the job market. Not only are students across the country gaining internships for professional experience, they are also seeking to grow their professional networks as a way to connect with potential companies and industries they want to work for.

An internship can mean the difference between getting hired or not. While an internship doesn’t guarantee you a position, it does increase your chances of getting hired.

Students can search in many places for internships. When you are considering an internship, be sure to schedule an appointment to meet with the Career Services Coordinator to discuss your options.
