Please request a presentation at least three days in advance and please keep in mind that presentation availability is dependent on availability and whether the Career Services Coordinator is working with students at Chinle and Teec Nos Pos sites. Presentations
Career Services Program Overview
Students will learn about the resources available in the Office of Career Services via interactive activities and critical discussion.
Approximate length: 20-30 minutes.
Job/Internship Search Strategies and Resources
Students will learn strategies to aid in their job and internship search including useful websites, resources, and how to access NTU’s internship database/listing.
Approximate length: 20-30 minutes.
Workshops
Résumé Development
Students will learn about the different types of résumés, review and critique résumé samples in groups, form a working definition of what a résumé is and does, draft a résumé and think critically about which transferable skills they can include. Major specific résumé workshops and more in depth sessions are available upon request.

Shhht! Networking 101
Students will think critically about networking in a general workplace and in a specifically Navajo workplace. What are some examples of networking from a Navajo perspective? Participants will also engage in peer groups focused on specific networking strategies and settings while learning basic skills to navigate those opportunities.
Approximate length: 30-40 minutes.
Effective Goal Setting
Students will learn to set SMART goals and how to apply them to their classes. Session features critical discussion, writing activities, group discussion, and board work.
Approximate length: 20 minutes.
Interview Skills
Students will participate in group work including acting out scenarios and discussions to learn interviewing skills.
Approximate length: 30 minutes.
Marketing Yourself Through Social Media
Students will learn how to use LinkedIn and set up their own account; there will also be discussion about using social media to set up a personal brand and how to not use social media as a professional.
Approximate length: 30 minutes.
Building Your Career Portfolio
Students will learn how to create a career portfolio and discuss the importance of a career portfolio.
Approximate length: 20 minutes.
Getting the Most from Google Drive
Students will learn how to navigate Google Drive to excel academically and in their career development.
Approximate length: 30 minutes.
Note: any of these workshops and presentations can be combined to fill a whole class period or spread out throughout the week or semester. You can also request workshops that are not listed and the Career Services Coordinator will prepare material for your request. Please remember to schedule a presentation at least three days in advance.
